YNPN Boston Statement: Standing in Solidarity with Our Black Communities
YNPN Boston stands in solidarity, grief, anger, and hope with our Black communities. We honor the lives of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and all we have lost to police violence and racism. Our hearts are heavy. Our anger is valid. Our grief is real.
YNPN Boston condemns racism and these resultant senseless killings. We must prioritize racial justice and anti-racism in every facet of our lives. While our mission is to provide support and resources to young professionals, we know that, to truly develop, we must continuously examine our power and privilege, be strong advocates for progress, and collectively envision a more just and equitable society for all.
We know that words are not enough and we must take action. YNPN Boston will be sharing more about our recommitment to equity and racial justice in the coming weeks. We urge you to demand accountability from your colleagues, politicians, community leaders, and within your own workplace. Support national and local organizations working towards racial justice.
In Solidarity,
The YNPN Boston Board

COVID-19 Survey Part Two: Racism a Top Concern Among YNPN Boston Community
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, it has become clear that we will be navigating the challenges and fallout from the virus for the long haul. In an effort to better understand the current needs of young nonprofit professionals in the Greater Boston area, YNPN Boston sent out a survey at the end of the summer, inviting individuals to share the ways in which COVID-19 has impacted their personal and professional lives.
Through this survey, a follow-up to ourinitial questionnaire from April 2020, we sought to gain insight into how our community’s priorities and concerns have evolved over the past several months in order to figure out how we can best assist during this difficult time. While a full summary of the survey results can be found here, following are a few key takeaways:
